Amy's Biography
Amy de Sybel was educated at Junior Royal Academy of Music and City of London School (94 – 2001) where she was awarded a full Music Scholarship.

 

 

 

 

After a year studying at the Krakow

Conservatory in Poland in 2002 with the head of Piano, Andrejz Pikul. she was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma with honours.

She then furthered her music degree (2002 –2005) at Pembroke College,

and Sidney Sussex College (Cambridge), Norwich Arts Centre.

As well as in numerous London venues including Blackheath Concert Hall, St James’ Covent Garden, the major City Guild Halls.

Oxford where she was made an instrumental scholar, and received a Joan Conway Award for performanceas well as a starred First for her final recital.

Amy is currently studying with Gordon Fergus Thompson at the Royal College of Music for an advanced Postgraduate Diploma.

She has been awarded a Pro Musica Award and a Marylebone Educational Trust scholarship.

As well, she also enjoyed masterclasses with Joanna Macgregor, Gary Cooper, Piers Lane, Vanessa Latarche, David Breitman, Graham Johnson and Roger Vignoles.

Performances

Amy has played successfully in concerts and recitals throughout Oxford and Cambridge University.

Including the Holywell Music Room, the Denis Arnold Hall and Pembroke College, New hall

During her year of study at the Krakow Academy in Poland, she gave performances at the city’s central performing venue, the Florianka Hall.

Upcoming engagements

Amy’s engagements this year will include Opening the St. Olave's Church, London Augumn music season.

A Lieder recital at Bletchington Park, Oxford, Chateau Gorgue(France), and Burgh House.

A recital for Benslow Music Trust, The Art in Action Festival in Oxfordshire and Chelsea Arts’ Club.

And concerts with Kokila Gillett, her partner in the Vasanta Duo at Norwich Arts’ centre, St Barnabas’ Church, London and in Faro, Portugal.

Amy received the Sir Henry Richardson Award at the Wigmore Hall in May 2008.
